Tawjihi Equivalency

As an international student of the British IGCSE/IAL and American ACT/HSD programs you have to take the subjects stated by the Ministry of Education in order to obtain a Tawjihi Equivalency which makes your British/American certificate applicable to study in Jordanian universities in the Tanafus “Competitive” position for your majors or if you plan to work in public/private sectors after graduation from universities abroad

Your Road To Tawjihi Equivalency Options

British IGCSE/IAL Program

Scientific Stream

6 passes in IGCSE or O-Level exams including:

Two passes in science subjects.
One pass in Arabic.

2 passes in A level:

One full A level in Physics or in Mathematics.
The other A level may be an A level in any science or two AS’s in two sciences.

Literary Stream

6 passes in IGCSE or O-Level exams including:

One pass in Mathematics.
One pass in Computer Studies/Information Technology.

2 passes in A-level:

One full A-level must be in Arabic.
The other A-level can be one of the following options:
- A level in any literary subject.
- Two AS’s in any two literary subjects.
- One AS in a literary subject and one AS in a scientific subject.

American ACT/HSD Program

Option 1: Six ACT Subject Tests

To obtain Tawjihi equivalency in the Tawjihi Scientific Stream for option 1, students must pass three science ACT subject tests including Math 2.

Tawjihi equivalency GPA out of 100 will be calculated as follows:

75% out of the ACT subject test scores
25% of the numeric grades of the last three years of high school (10,11,12)

Option 2: Eight ACT Subjects

To obtain Tawjihi equivalency in the Tawjihi Scientific Stream for option 2, students must pass three science ACT Subject tests including Math 2.

Tawjihi equivalency GPA out of 100 will be calculated as follows:
